Introduction
The basic idea of Mileage is it to have an sandbox environment game world where the player travels around, discovering things and beat some challenges as well as interact with living entities. Kind of a limited “open world” experience, a breathing environment with thick, plausible atmosphere. The Mileage idea stuck with me for a few years now and gone through various evolvements and prototypes like “Desert Rats” and “Nitro Acid“.

What is this now?
Well the question is more where it is heading instead of what it is since so far it is still early in development. My current approach is it to build a world map with the primarily goal to be a racing environment in which the player can take part of hot rod racing action but also explore, collect and interact with a few people that live in this area. To some extend I would like to include simple quests. On a further note I could see this evolve into a more diverse gameplay rich world with RPG roots but this might be something way further down the line.
Who is working on it?
I’m working on the game alone so far. First it’s because I want to explore this idea further before I drag other people in keeping in mind that the game has close to zero development budget. On a second thought as I would include more people into development it would mean that my involvement would become more of a project leader while my passion really is to work hand on on things, I can see that happening at some point but not just yet. That said there are some guys that helped me while I was working on other things that might get involved again to support me with things like writing, audio or voiceovers. Time will tell :-)

How can I get involved?
Right now you could support me by spreading the word. Later this year I’m planning to throw Mileage into the Steam Greenlight process and that’s where I will need help to get noticed, so every media channel shares are very appreciated. If you are a 3D artist and like to spend some time with asset creation or character modeling and rigging you should get in touch, however keep in mind that I don’t have a budget for the project at this point. Last but not least you can help me with foundings buying my products and share them on your network of course. Again helping to get the word out is really helpful for small indie devs like me as I can’t afford to hire any fancy promotion agency.
That’s all folks, at least for now. Stay tuned for more to come and accompany me on this adventure :-)
