Parodium was a student semester project back in university around 2002/2003. My industrial designer teammate drew the characters and character textures as we created a small beat em up prototype. The idea was to portrait aged caricature versions of stereotype beat em up game characters. Besides coordinating the project I was in charge of modeling, animation and working on the prototype using Virtools with some support of a befriended programmer. The prototype included an ingame cutscene, controller support and character adjustments.
The beach scene was developed way before things like Far Cry existed, normal bump mapping wasn’t even a thing yet back then. The whole scene had around 50k Polygons and was meant to provide two battle arenas for the game. One at the beach and another one floating in the sea.
